Painting

The other day I got Brodys room painted. Yeah!!!
We also got his crib and changing table in his room, and his curtains hung up. We have a few more things to get before I can show you the finished product.
But, I will say....Its lookin mighty cute!!!!
I had the window wide open and wore a mask,
for all of you that are worried why I am painting when I am pregnant.
I was going to paint his room apple green, but we decided that might not be very boyish, so we just did the tan from the rest of our house. It is soooo cute with his bedding!

That Zebra in his bed, is my FAVORITE!!!

These boots are made for walkin'

These are the newest addition to Brody's closet. Are they cute or what? I know that he won't be wearing these for a whole year, until he starts walking, but I couldn't resist. They are so dang cute and reminded me of his daddy, so they were a must!!! And the best thing is....they were only $5.00, who can beat that?

20 weeks

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and got to see how big Brody is getting inside my tummy. He was very active and wiggled alot! I loved seeing his little profile and his hands and feet moving. He is healthy (our greatest blessing) and everything they tested was great! He is growing fast and getting so big, they measured him to probably have a due date of August 31. We will know for sure next appointment if Dr. Smith wants to move his due date to that. I was so happy when she said Its a Boy! Even though we had found out earlier(16 weeks), you never know. I have heard so many stories of people finding out early and then at their 20 week appointment they get told the other sex. Its a good thing its Brody coming, I have bought him all his bedding and painted his room! phew!
Here is the left side of his body. You can see his abdomen,
his arm on the side and his little face and ear.

I LOVE this profile shot with his hand right by his mouth!!!!

Here is the much asked for 20 week belly shot.

Easter at the Binghams

On Sunday we went up to my parents house and celebrated the day away!!! Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love that it is getting warmer and all the bright colored eggs and yummy candies. Getting together with family has got to be the greatest thing to do, especially when you get to celebrate a holiday together. We made yummy food and had an easter egg hunt in the backyard, it was hard this year, my dad hid them really good. It was a beautiful day and we had such a great Easter!!!

Wyatt, Chelsea and Raegan getting ready for the feast!!!
Austin and I with Brody in my tummy, can you see how big it is getting? yay!!!

and hmmmmm...well...odd is all I can say about this one.

Easter treats from my parents!

Do you remember these from childhood?
I haven't seen them around since I was little. My mom found them
this year at the peppermint place for the grandbabies.

After all the excitment my mom and wyatt took a little nap in the sunshine.
Thank you for a wonderful Easter!!!!!
We can't wait until next year when we have our little Brody Boy to celebrate with.

Spiritual Enlightenment

I have been raised by a mother that is beyond talented, if you can think it, she can do it. She has creativity running through her vains at all moments. And being her daughter, I find that my days are consumed with wanting to create. I feel better when I go to bed knowing that I have made something beautiful for the day. I love flower arranging, cooking, sketching, and decorating. Working in the field that I do, I felt that my need to create was being fulfilled.....but I was wrong.

The day Austin and I found out that we had created a baby and that we were going to get to experience being a mom and a dad was overwhelming. I was overcome with a feeling of spiritual enlightenment, it was an ah ha moment, knowing that this was my calling in life. I felt that this was my moment to really be fulfilled in life, that nothing else in the world mattered as long as I could create a child and leave the world a better place.

marriage thoughts

I get asked alot by my darling friends, "You and Austin seem to be sooo in love with eachother still, whats the secret?"

I don't know that we really have a secret but I can tell you for sure that I love him more today then I did the day I married him. And I am sure I will wake up next month more madly in love with him then I am today. The one thing I know is that we are best friends, and it is because we take the time to make it that way.
We all have a fundamental need to communicate, so Austin and I make it a priority to talk on the phone during the day and when he gets home from school late, we talk some more. Who better to confide in than the one who hears you snore, takes care of you when you are sick, and knows you inside out? A strong commitment to communication is key to our thriving marriage. We do not keep things from eachother, even if it is something the other will be disappointed in, marriage is about sharing the bad and the good. Your spouse is with you forever(hopefully); richer, poorer, in sickness, and health. Trusting them in every measure is the best thing you can do to strengthen the marriage you have.
